I went to the beach today and came home with seventeen sand dollars! A very nice and smart lady told me how to tell the difference between live ones and ones that were okay to take home. (I was worried, I didn't want to hurt them)

She said if you turn the sand dollar over and it has a furry belly, it is alive and to put it back. But... if it is flat and smooth, then no one lives in it anymore and I could take it home!
