Hi Lynn - I'm glad Bella is okay. If a plum tree grows in or around your yard, you'll know the culprit - especially if the flavor of the fruit has a slight hint of licorice.
I had a German Shepherd prior to my current dog. When she was a puppy, we locked her up in the kitchen when we were gone, thinking she'd stay out of trouble. I folded up a comforter for her to use as a bed.
I came home from work and opened the door to the kitchen. My puppy lifted her head, one ear still flopping over, and gave me a look of sheer joy - as if to say "I'm having SOOOOO MUCH FUN!"
She had discovered the "lazy susan" and played with a box of Raisin Bran cereal - spreading it all over the floor and comforter. She then discovered a box of cocoa and played with that - same thing. She then discovered a six-pack of beer in the pantry and started playing with the cans, puncturing them. She had a can in her mouth when I came home.
My puppy, my comforter, and my floor were completely coated in Raisin Bran flakes, cocoa, and beer. She was having such a good time, I didn't have the heart to scold her - all I could do was laugh. What a mess, lol. She didn't appear to have ingested anything. She was an amazing dog and very easy to train.
