Doesn't sound grandiose to me, Wendy. To me it just sounds like needing validation, that even though we are sick, we can still overcome the illness and live a whole life!

It's not any more grandiose than say, Christopher Reeve struggling to survive something that should have killed him, or leg amputees that will still run a marathon, climb a mountain or continue to ski. Depression can either put you in a vegetative state or we can work past it.
