It's important to develop good sleep habits, like waking/sleeping the same time everyday, limiting caffeine, not doing activities that occupy your mind before bedtime etc. Can you put a fan in your room? For the stress, imagine you put all your worries in a locked box and you put it high on a shelf -this symbolizes you're not going to worry for the night. If you can't sleep try not to worry about it.
Do you have a Nintendo DS - I have the game called Brain Age2 and there's this game called 'virus busters' on it. It's meant to be relaxing and it really is - I play it when I lay in bed and often I nod off with it on my chest lol - it has this soothing lullabye music. You can also try reading or writing in a journal before you sleep. Learn how to do slow deep breathing and concentrate on relaxing one at a time each part of your body - you can tense the muscle, then relax it. Hope this helps.
