Hi, I'm new to the forum and saw your post. I am Type 2 diabetic using insulin & oral meds, and have had gastroparesis, which is a subset of IBS, for many years. 2010 is the year of my relief for it! First I have a warning for you -- I was on Reglan for 2 years and am one of the people who wound up with Tardive Dyskinesia from it -- so be very careful and informed before you agree to use Reglan. I have found that first I had to find and stop using the meds that have constipation or diarrhea as a possible side effect, begin using Amitiza (it allows the stomach to move food through the intestines at a more normal rate), and have probiotic yoghurt every day. Within 2 weeks my system was functioning normally and I could go back to the meds I needed with no return symptoms. Two months later, all is still good. Mention this to your family doctor and see if they can help you identify a similar process. Good luck to you and blessings for recovery. P.S. I'm a piano player as well -- trying to learn the clavinova now.
