the *exact* same thing happened to me last year on my birthday.. no contact from the family, which was a first after 31 years. this year was a little better, but still - i get what you're saying about taking 30 secs out of one's day to say 'happy birthday.' how hard is that?!

ps. our bdays are like a week and a half apart - mine was the 4th!
