Perpetuallysad is right -- a post is a post, whether you're starting a new thread or replying to an ongoing one. If you like, you can look up exactly what posts of yours are being counted:

-- Locate anything you've posted, such as the question I just quoted. To the left of your post, click on the big maureenjs link.

-- A pulldown menu will appear. Click on Find More Posts by maureenjs.

(By the way, that search function will show no more than 500 results. Once you have more than 500 posts here, you'll have to resort to other search methods to find your earliest ones. Also, your post count ("Posts: 11") may not always match perfectly the number of posts turned up by searching. DocJohn has explained that there are technical reasons for that.)
