My first reaction is what a crappy family! But then I have to admit that I'm not one of "those" people. I have relatives that send cards for every occassion. I have good intentions, but for some reason I just can't pull it off.

My daughter used to be quite irritated that our extended family could never get her birthday right. She was born overseas, and when we called to announce her birth, it was still the third, although she was born on the fourth there.

I feel guilty because my nieces and nephews all get their birthday cards and Christmas gifts at the same time, and in recent years it's all been in May. One graduates, we attend the party and cards for all occassions are distributed at that time. It doesn't mean that I don't love them, or think about them, I just have a love/hate relationship with the post office. This year one the set from my husband's side of the family got two Christmases and birthdays. I was working and unable to attend my niece's graduation. My husband, keeping with the recent trend, handed out cards and gifts at the graduation party, he had forgotten that we went up there on Christmas day and delivered them on time for a change!

Happy Birthday, and in case I forget next year, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas.
