I've wondered if something could be wrong "down there" since I was a teenager because I was never able to use tampons, but I guess this confirms it. My doctor said that dilators were an option (I'm not sure if you get gynos in the UK?), but he didn't want to "medicalise" it too early - so he's suggested just waiting a while before having sex again and see if that helps. Didn't specify how long "a while" was, I thought I was ready the last time so how I'll know the next time I have no idea...
