When I was going through endoscopy for my cancer a friend wanted to be there with me but couldn't so she gave me somethjing to hang on to during the procedure. While hanging on to that item I knew she was thinking of me and wanted to be with me and wanted the outcome to be the best - remission. Maybe you can do this with your brother.
