I have been actively researching DID since 2001. I wish there was a 12 step for us but have found nothing yet. What helped me was the book (among many others - Amongst Ourselves by Dr. Tracy Alderman and Karen Marshall, Nancy J. Napiers books getting through the Day and Recreating Yourself and working with my therapist and many professionals in the field across the United States in putting together a custom made 24/7 therapy program specifically geared to what I need. That therapy program includes - Art therapy(Drawing, painting, clay, craft projects), Relaxation therapy (learning relaxation techniques and using them, grounding techniques), Writing therapy (journaling, writing my autobiography, putting my poems together into book form) among other things ... By working with my therapist researching and so on I was able to basically cram 10 years of therapy work into three years (and I continue to use this program now) You can find more details about me and my therapy program on the NAMI website. I post in the living with a personality disorder forum and my handle is katherine there. There is a resource list I posted in my thread subject line DID there and it is also posted here. These books, websites and so on are some of the many things my therapist found and used. Know that they are not listed in alphabetical order just as they appeared in my journals. I also did not separate them into whether or not my therapist and I agreed with them that way people here and on NAMI can make up their own minds based on what they are looking for and need. You can also find information through your public library, college librarys, and by contacting professionals in the field, and survivors too. If you are in therapy your therapist may know of groups in your area that might also help. Good luck
