It can be medication related...some meds are terrible at causing memory lapses. And, if you are NOT taking meds, depression causes bad times with memory.

Once a doctor told me that depression doesn't really cause bad memory so much, it's just that it interferes so much with concentration that what's already in your head gets jumbled and what you are suppposed to listen to and hear never gets in there because your concentration is so bad, it never gets into your brain in the first place. That made so much sense to me because my husband used to get so mad at me because he would have to repeat things to me so many times before I would remember the simplest things. After I explained it to him, it made sense. So he made sure that I repeated it back to him so he knew it had made it into my brain.

With the right meds in the right doses, things are great. Meds make a big difference, both pro and con.
