You are correct AkAngel, but it is still "on the books" here in Mississippi. The 1967 ruling overturned it, but we've never felt the need to change the laws. Many states did change their laws after the supreme court decision, but MS didn't.

To me (though I know many disagree) I don't care if it's called a marriage or a civil union. I was married by a justice of the peace, so I suppose I also have a civil union, which would be appropriate as we are both atheists.
