When I lost my job I renegotiated my severance package up from what they were originally offering. In the final package that we settled on, the company agreed to keep my medical benefits going until Dec. 31, 2010.
I took in a prescription to my pharmacy on Friday and the pharmacy called me today to say that my insurance company had told them, that my coverage expired July 22!

. I know it's a communications screw-up that will get sorted out eventually, but in the meantime I have to come up with $800 to pay for my meds. Guess that'll be on the old credit card.
This happenned to one other employee who left but had their benefits extended and I remember it took weeks to sort it out, so now I have something else to worry about on top of dealing with the insurance company about my settlement from the car crash.
I hate insurance companies.
