Do you have a pdoc to see for your psych meds?
Maybe those meds will need to be adjusted to keep you more stable, and in turn keep the rest in check?
ED and SI usually stem from underlying psychological issues, which need to be adressed with therapy.
Have a look at what other sufferers have to say in the ED and SI forums. They'll be able to give you some insight and support. And I too suffer from Bipolar, so I understand your frustration.
Think of this appointment as the medical appointment which it is - let the medical doctor do what (s)he needs to do, and leave the rest (Psychological issues) for a proffessional to address.
