I finally heard back from the insurance claims adjuster re what I'm getting back from my car after it was written off. The good news is my broker put a rider on my policy that said if anything happenned to the car in the first year I'd get back full purchase price, pre taxes. So I have enough to pay off the bank loan, and will still have about $7,000 left to buy a used car.

I'm holding off on buying a car until after I hear about when I'm going IP, but I'm really relieved that now I have the funds to buy something decent used.
