I think with the right doctors, medication and specific therapy(CBT) a person can mange it very well. I saw a pro football player with his doctor on Good Morning America. They showed a before video of him - he looked like a different person. He had to count to 1,500 just perfectly(many do overs) before doing any task, therefore he was barely functional.
His doctor put him on the right meds and therapy and now he's functioning well. They co-wrote a book together called "My Life In Rewind" by Michael Jenike and Edward Zines.
