Sorry, can take 10-15 years to get through peri; mid-30's to actual menopause; I think I just heard the "average" was age 51, which is just the year following an entire year without a period. I got to 8-10 months without a period in my mid- late-40's and then had one :-) Had to start "all over" counting. I had mine in August of 1999. I was lucky and just had a bit more depression around that suspected time of the month (like in my 20's) and like 2-3 night sweats, was a bit angrier/moody for 7-8 years but not too much upset/difference from anything I'd had before. It's mostly just more of the "same" that you've had at some time in your history but, for me, kind of inbetween best and worst.

Do you go to the doctor? They can tell you a bit more about how far along you are?
