That sounds very painful and generally upsetting. I am having some weird vagina things the last few days and just a few days of this have gotten me intensely upset (though I do admit I'm a pretty tense person normally). I found a fantastic resource called Vagina Pagina. It is a huge wealth of information and there is a very active forum and blogger type thing over there with lots of women to help with any questions about anything. I haven't been brave enough to post, but just reading things has helped me to get a better grasp on what's normal or abnormal and when to seek help. Your symptoms are very worrisome to me and I do think you need to go to the doctor again. BV can lead to PID and that is quite serious. I'm not saying that's what's happened to you, but it's a real possibility. Try reading this page and see if anything there can help you. That page also has a link to the PID information page.

As far as clotting itself, I don't think that is abnormal. Combined with all of the other things you describe I would definitely say something is wrong. I know that I generally feel weird and ashamed of anything that goes wrong in my vulva/vagina area and I'm always so afraid to talk about it. I think it's great you were so brave to come and ask for help. Anyhow, try that link and get to a doc if you can. They also offer some very good "home remedies" that I have found effective, sometimes more effective, than prescription ones.

Good luck.
