Years ago I had a car crash with a semi. He was in the far right lane and I was in the center lane on a surface street and he swung into my lane trying to make a U-turn left through the intersection. It was kind of late at night, but he didn't signal and how can you turn left from the far right lane? Totally illegal and the cop who came to assess the accident agreed with me. But I kept churning over that one in my mind for months. I still get nervous every time I have to pass a semi whether on the freeway or surface streets. I always think they're going to move suddenly into my lane. There was nothing I could do either to avoid that accident. The body of the truck was to my right and the head was in front and moving to my left. It tore a big gash on the right side of my car, but we were able to salvage it with the insurance. Don't be surprised if you are having PTSD symptoms. It's very common with serious accidents. I even wrote a poem about it that describes the chaos and time slowing down and how you feel close to death and your dreams are invaded. Anyway, big . Hope you feel more safe and secure as time goes on.
