Firstly let me tell you that you aren't mental, dumb, retarded or any other name your husband can throw at you.

You are placing your affection (of which you have a lot), into this babyborn doll. And because it's a baby you "feel" that you get affection from it, sort of like the son you never had.

Your husband is embarrassed by your "baby" and he thinks you've reverted to childhood or worse become unhinged by thinking your doll is a real baby. He's thinking of all the hobbies in the world why did you have to do this?

I suggest you ask him to sit and ask him to quietly discuss why he feels so vehemently about this hobby you've chosen. He deserves to be heard just as you deserve the right to your hobby. But don't put up with abuse, that is not appropriate.

If you are using the doll as a surrogate for affection then there is a bit of a problem because the doll is inanimate and I'd suggest a puppy instead.
