They don't turn it off till 11:30pm, and we are required to awake by 6:45am and out the door by 9:00am. I try to get to bed by 9:30pm, but it's a futile attempt because I usually can't get to sleep anytime before 12:30am. I am so exhausted. What's that condition where you purposely starve yourself? Add me to the list.

Hmmm. It's doubtful you're bulimic, Mrhomercat. I understand your problem. My wife runs the TV til the wee hours too. Drives me nuts. It won't kill you, though. It sounds like you're getting a good seven hours sleep a night. It wouldn't be enough for me and it may not be enough for you, but these damn shelters aren't supposed to be comfortable for everyone. They should be, but they're not. Any luck on finding any work? Myself, I'm looking for some part-time work locally in retail sales, in which I haven't the slightest experience. And if I earn more than $20K a year they'll stop my social security. You want crazy? It's crazy. Damn. If only I weren't married. Being responsible for someone else really, really cramps your choices. Is there anyplace other than Detroit that would be better for you, guy? Anyplace where an unemployed drummer could earn a living? The whole feeling about Detroit now is so down (I don't know, I've never been there). Have you tried to get a job outside your regular line of work? Convenience store, retail sales, whatever? No, it won't make you rich, but you might be able to find a better place to flop. Shelters are no fun at all. I wish there was more I could do or say. But for now I'll just have to say, take care, guy.
