I totally understand what your going through; I started dating my current boyfriend when I was 19 and I am now 22; he is only a year and a half older than me but he is much more ready to make it all official while I am okay with how things are now. Enough about me!

You're only 18 and sooo much in your life changes if/when you go to college/trade school/work. Before being tied down you need to find yourself. Even if you want to be with this person for the rest of your life you need to go out and do the things that you want to do.

I want to go out of state next year to complete a program that will further me in my career. It'll be hard on my relationsihp but my bf has come around and has become very supportive even though it's not his first choice.

So you don't want to be totally tied down; what kinds of things are going on in your life? Maybe you are spending too much time with him and going out to do your own thing will make spending time together more special rather than a daily activity.
