Yes, many areas are already flooded here. They have ordered a full evacuation of the Florida Keys. (though some 5,000 ppl are still going to have their parade first...duh!) Things are already cancelled for weekend and next Monday for sure... school, courts, etc. There were many , many festivals and activities in the SE Florida area...and now there will be millions of dollars lost for that (not only loss of the income, but all those restaurants etc planning to feed thousands food... and now the food will go bad. etc.) Many gas stations have run out of fuel... and most all the stores are out of generators and water.... someone had punched little holes into two of my water/containers and when I went back to exchange them... there weren't any to exchange them with! The manager gave me alternate containers with equal amounts of water though. (not the easy to "pour" and carry ones though!) [b] sigh. oh well. I'm babbling. I know. sorry.

I am thinking that it won't be a slow system much longer, but will whiz over to us... but might slow once it gets here, depending upon the high...and the new depression coming up. . . the cooler trough might help lessen it, but maybe only counteract the warm waters of the Gulf... They are predicting severe bouts with TORNADOES here ...grrr the 150+ tornadoes in Hurricane Andrew is what helped ruin us.
BTW there is ANOTHER system building.... to the south east of us... Tropical Storm Warnings are up for Turks and Caicos Islands (lower tip of Bahamas.).. it will be "Alpha"...... they are "hoping" Hurricane Wilma will push it out ahead of her. Yeah, right...
I've seen very little but still TOO MUCH weather and news. Gotta quit that now!
I'm all buttoned up, except for my french doors. They didn't put the shutters in right for them, and I can't exit the doors once I pull those shutters... I usually do that just as the wind begins... that also means I have to i][walk the dog [/i]out front rather than let him out into the fenced back yard. grrrrr He loves to go out front anyway. sigh.
