I don't know, but one possible approach is through Detachment, Recognition & Analysis (I'm sure the cognitive-behavioral professionals have their own way of describing this). No need to answer these questions to anyone but yourself. Just exactly what are these "little things?" When and where to they appear? Do you always react the same way or do you experience different reactions? Which "little things" can be avoided and which can't? Is it possible or realistic to develop different responses to these triggers?

No, this is not easy. I hope you can find some relief somehow. Feel free to vent.
