For me, living from session to session helped keep my suicidal impulses and depression under control for awhile, but I started seeing the therapist less eventually, when I was doing a bit better. I still think I need to see a therapist more regularly, but can't afford to right now. If you think therapy is causing you more problems than it helps, then I can understand stopping, or at least seeing a new therapist. But I don't know how you weigh how much it's helping vs. causing more problems.
