While reading your post, a bit of self-recognition forced out a little smile. Oh yes, I'm aware of my "inner child," and it seems that kid has exercised a tremendous influence over my entire life. In hindsight, it's amazing how feelings and urges and interests developed in my earliest years have imposed themselves repeatedly. Sometimes I wonder if I ever grew up.

I don't know either, but at least you have something to explore. If you find a way to make her grow up, though, perhaps it would be good to ask yourself just how much growing up you want her to do. It may not be apparent now, but some of those "childish" things may have purpose and beauty.
