I'm not certain we need a separate forum for this, since it is something that would be practiced across all forums and in everything we do. We always encourage individuals to become e-patients -- empowered, education patients -- who are partners in their treatment and treatment decisions. You might also be interested in the Society for Participatory Medicine, which advocates just this model (but under different terminology):

In the meantime, as others have suggested, you might consider starting a social group and we'll see how it goes from there.
