you can continue this debate all you want alone if you wish but it does not change the fact that we are in two different locations and under the teachings and work ethics that are vastly different therefore will most likely never agree. I live in the USA and am under the work ethics and teachings of the american way so my answers will continue to reflect that. it does not make them wrong nor does it make any one wrong because they dont have child alters like you believe and have been taught.
to the original poster sorry I went off topic of your needs. I think you are doing great regardless of what ages your alters are and I accept you as you are and have no expectations for your alters ages. what ever they are, they are what you needed to survive. keep up the great work. you will make it through this.

It is not specific to my country, many professionals (from all over the world) and people diagnosed with DID will agree with me.
A child at the age of five will dissociate easily and the alter will be around the same age because this all a child knows. The alter does not grow with the body. The only time the alter will 'grow' is in therapy.
Why do you think 'play' therapy is used so much with DID patients? Playing with sand, roll play, painting and drawing are great therapeutic tools (just as they are in treating children.) Neuro Linguistic Programming and Transactional Analysis have been found to be hugely beneficial in aiding communication between the parts/alters aswell as the trauma work that is needed for any child that has been abused.
You can believe what you believe, I'm sticking with the facts.
