I'm sorry you were hurt when this person could not deliver on their promise to you ((((((((((( fuzzy ))))))))))))).

I understand how that feels, I think most everyone does as it's not an uncommon thing to happen to most folks. I try to believe the best in everyone so when that happens to me, I like to think that when the promise was made, it was made in good faith and with good intent. Life being what it is, unpredictable and always moving, it may become impossible for that person to fulfill that promise.

I try to look at the intent of the promise. If it was made with good intent, I may still feel a bit hurt if the person can't follow through, but I find more understanding and the pain isn't so difficult to deal with, it's more disappointment than anything else. If I find the intent of the promise was anything but honorable, then the hurt is deeper and I have to look at myself as well to figure out what I could have done to recognize it for what it was before I was hurt.

I don't know if that all makes sense. And I know we are different people, but I hope my thoughts might help you.
