Unless your family members are psychiatrists, I do believe you have received an "armchair diagnosis" as my therapist likes to say about people who go about making untrained observations and labeling people. The label your family member might have been referring to is Narcisistic Personality Disorder. Interesting research in that. Seriously though, you do not have to have a diagnosis to come here. This a wonderful community to just come and to talk things out or put your two cents in to help someone out! Hope to see you around the boards!
