Although my understanding is HIV requires a specific test and that a CBC by itself cannot
directly detect it, I think it's great your doctor ordered the CBC. The test can be a useful tool in drawing the doctor's attention to a variety of potential problems. You don't want all your symptoms to be laid at the door of depression, etc.
