((((((((((((((((Thunderbear))))))))))))))))

That anxiety does the worst things doesn't it! The reason a cell count is done is because white cells increase when there is any infection in the body, that includes allergy infection. Usually with a white cell increase there is a red cell decrease, but as pointed out that can be because of ferrous deficiency.

There are many reasons a red cell count can be abnormal but it is the very first step in indicating what, where etc. The next is the esr erythrocyte sedimentation rate is an index which also shows if there is inflamation or infection and as it settles between certain indeces it flags different possibilities as far as illness goes. If the esr is over a certain rate the lab will automatically to a titre count to check for automimmune disease of any kind.

Hope that helps Thunderbear. I worked as a path nurse for a number of years and loved it. I hope you feel a little better now, though I know that sometimes we don't feel better until we have the information we want,

((((hugs to you))))
