You become busy with all that needs to be done, like medical tests, decision making.
You get angry and scared. You fall apart and then it occurs to you that what is happening is what is real; it is your new reality, and you can no more control this reality than what preceeded it.
You do what you need to do, and you hope for the best.
You gain comfort from caring friends, family, and the caring medical personnel you meet along the way. You find out there is a time for comforting and a time to push forward. Intermingled so that the pushing forward feels safe and rewarding.
Getting through it, life seems much simpler because priorities become re-arranged.
You live one day at at time.
Just like you always have.
You live for today, plan for tomorrow.
