I don't appreciate the name calling.

That is really obnoxious to be told that and shows a lack of understanding of today's world, not to mention a lack of empathy.

Telling people never to use student loans is a way to perpetuate classism.

I did give what I knew and sorry if that upset members.

I don't know all the ins and outs of today's college, and I was going to suggest community college but felt I would be shot down for that.

I did say that:

But truly IDK anymore about how that all works and I judge no one (except that "student loans" are NOT smart.)

Here's a reference to how to do loans (even for books) in the best way. All the people (well all I know who had issues trying to pay off their loans after the fact) has wished they'd never obtained a "student" loan, but had borrowed money elsewhere. This link will give you ideas I'm sure, and as I referenced before, SuzeOrman.com has free info on just about anything dealing with money.

I'm not an expert, but she is.

Did anyone happen to think as to WHY I went to college when I already had a husband and two kiddoes? It's because I couldn't afford it in the economy that existed before (nor after) that time! Jobs were scarce and just putting food on the table was about all we could handle.

Sometimes you have to wait for what you want, and work hard etc. Things will get better before long, but then they'll be worse again. I understand that young people don't generally see the long distance (I didn't either much) and that's a godsend in ways. Be well.
I hope everything works out for you, all of you. I'll refrain from commenting further because I realize you don't want all thoughts on this matter, and only sympathy. If I had no empathy, I wouldn't have bothered to reply. Gosh folks, give me a break. I'm still human and come to PC for support, too.
