Work with your counselor on this. It's difficult when we first realize that something we are doing isn't really NORMAL & really is a problem even though we have been doing it for years without really having it bother us. It you truly want to stop doing those things, then you will follow through with your counselor's work on it. Everything we do is a choice.....even addictions & habits are a choice, but they are difficult to break & just take time & focus & determination.

I would tell myself that my life will be a lot easier without being chained to doing these things & that the sense of freedom will be well worth the work it takes & attack it with a positive, 'can do' attitude.
