I think the ecig is the easiest and most realistic (most sane) way to quit. I purchased mine back in Dec. '09. Like you, I intended to cut down gradually in the nicotine content, but I found that not even necessary. I just used the ecig less and less, no matter what the nicotine content whether high, med, or low... this, from a 35 year smoker who couldn't quit with any other product. I eventually just began forgetting about it altogether for days. And while the ecig is pleasurable, it is nowhere near the addictive qualities of tobacco cigarettes, leading me to believe the tobacco companies add and extra something addictive to their products besides just tobacco.
Since my initial purchase, I've saved hundreds of dollars! That alone is a great incentive. OH...and I feel much better!
