My Mom doesn't want me to get another hamster. She is afraid of the heartache that will ensue when the hamster dies after about 2 years.

I miss having Hammie around. I miss him. I also dread the day when another hamster will die. I don't know whether or not it is a good idea to get another hamster. I don't want to be hurt again.

On the other hand, it is awfully lonely without a hamster around.

I just don't know. All things die.
