Some people with BP cannot tolerate being on anti-d's (even with a mood stabilizer) and it can push them into hypomania, mania or a mixed episode. Celexa is a SSRI anti-d and they can cause persons diagnosed more issues than a non-SSRI like wellbutrin. I was having difficulties with my anti-d (wellbutrin) when I switched to a new mood stabilizer and my p-doc reduced my dose by half. I was experiencing mixed episodes and hypomania and now that my anti-d has been reduced that has stopped.
WEll am definetly not hypo if anything i am hyper. wife has got to the point that she has designated every other day and still that is hard on her. I talked to pdoc he thinks its the celexa which is another reason he wants me off the celexa.
