I would feel angry too if I were promised something and was given the run around. I agree with the other poster - use your righteous anger to supply you with the motivation and energy to come up with a creative approach to solving this problem.

First, I would get the name of the director (or whatever title) of your school. Problems that need to be resolved will (usually) only be resolved when addressed with someone in a position of power. As you have made clear, none of the underlings have made any effort to fulfill your request.

Address your letter to the mucky-muck of the school you attended and outline all of the attempts you have made to get what was promised. Describe in detail what you are asking for and that you look forward to his/her help.

Make sure that you supply your address and contact number and ask that this person call you and let you know what progress he/she has made in obtaining the object of your desire and when you can expect to receive it.

Be polite, direct, yet firm.

I say "squeaky wheel gets the grease". So go forward and squeak!

This is all about being assertive and doing all you can do to "right a wrong". And do remember that being assertive does not mean that we will always get what we want. Sometimes, we need to cut our losses and move on. It's all about knowing when to let go and move forward.

All the best, Laurie
Thanks for this!
