I have had Migraine head aches for about 19 years. There was a time when they were fast and horrid. I would get a good one a few times a month.
The pattern for me was 1. seeing an aura 2. Numbness on one side of my face arm and hand, 3. aphasia, I would try to speak and the wrong words would come. 4. Unbelievable pain and vomitting.
Over the years I learned to recognize when one was coming on and drink caffeine like crazy to try to head it off. Different meds have been made and maxalt works well for me.
Well, It's been about two years since I had one. For the past several days I have had an aura but not identifies it as such. Feels like my vision is bothering me. I always have a head ache so that didn't impress me. And I have been sick to my stomach. Yesterday my hands, arms and face were getting numb in no particular order. Well, last night I added it all up and realized it's migraine. I called the doctor on call to see if it was okay to take my maxalt and he assured me it would help if it was a migraine and wouldn't hurt if it wasn't. It helped.
So here's the thing. EVERYTHING I try to look at gives me the aura. Up close I mean. I was leaning over the desk top computer which was on so I could reach and reset the connection. Just being up close to the screen bothered me so much. It's kinda the feeling you get when you see a lot of stripes going fast.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I feel like I want to wear sunglasses. This lap top is easier for me as I angle it away. Yes my head hurts but like I told the doc the symptoms are managable, it's the change that bothers me.
I am not changing anything in my diet, I am not taking more or less caffeine, what's the deal? Hormonal pre-mentapausal stuff?
Any ideas? Thanks.
