i've gone through periods of my life where i felt like i was in a very similar place.... i.e. smoking all the time. i thought it was helping me cope with the emotions & anxiety. maybe for some select people it really does without side effects.
BUT - i've noticed that when i stopped smoking all the time, i was able to have that little bit more motivation/energy to start - one thing at a time can be helpful

- accomplishing things i wanted and needed to do.
i had to learn other ways to cope with the emotions and anxiety, but most of the time i'm okay with that.
