I would get a pest control person out and get the mice out of my room. Not dealing with the problem is not "rational"? I think everyone is afraid of some things and there's nothing unreasonable about being afraid of mice, especially if you have them!
The only mirrors I have are in the bathrooms so I can brush my hair. I would experiment with size and "need" and lighting, etc. and see if I couldn't "make friends with" a mirror? Who knows why you are afraid of mirrors, but they're just "mirrors" so would not be worth worrying about for me. I would just do away with them too and/or try to desensitize myself to them or some if I didn't think I could avoid them completely and didn't want friends or relatives to comment? Look in a mirror with someone who loves you and have them describe what they see? Get rid of the field mice where you are now and go visit a pet store with a friend and observe the mice there? I'd read about mice, real and stories and talk to my mother or siblings, think back about when/how I first became afraid of these "things". Could be you are avoiding something else and have picked these things to "focus" on instead (if you are afraid of the mice and constantly hearing/thinking about them, you don't have to think about breaking up with your boy/girlfriend or something else major like that?).
