We just call it switching. Our counselor calls hiding or running away when I switch because of fear and I can't remember what happens. I do have a name for the place that I go when that happens, the "hole". I call it that because it seems like that's where I am. I can't see anything or hear anything or remember anything. The others inside have started calling it that too and when our counselor asks where I am, they tell him that I'm in the hole, which generally means that something big has happened that I was unable to deal with before. I am sorry that I got off on a tangent, but your questions sparked that in my mind.
