I don't know how your prof responded. I would like to have thought that I would have rebutted their comments, if I were still teaching that course. You might consider approaching your professor outside of class, providing the "facts" and hope that he/she will make some comments about their ignorance and correct them......

My younger son was just diagnosed with ADD several months ago, at age 17. I've been reading a lot on the subject--and it definitely has nothing to do with intelligence. In fact, he scored extremely high on an IQ test. His vocabulary score was off the chart--just got one-half of a point off the whole section. (Sorry--have to brag a bit!)
