I'm happy your boss is so understanding! I had a boss a while back that didn't understand when I told her I have depression and anxiety- she asked is it would effect my work, etc, but anyways, good for you! =)

She wanted to know why I was filling out FMLA forms with another employee at work but why she was not informed about what was going on. I told her I felt my illness was private and I didn't want her to know about it.

Long story short, we talked for a little while longer and I eventually told her that I am Bipolar and Borderline. She said it is what she would have guessed. She said she can tell I have good days and bad days, and days when I am not all the way with it. But that when I am doing well, I do great at what I do.

She did say one thing that is a huge relief. She said she wouldn't fire someone over an illness. So I'm not going to lose my job over the sick calls. That is a relief.

In a way I'm happy that she knows, but in a way I think it will be awkward now. I hope she still treats me with respect.
