Hi gurl,
I've had sleep problems on and off all my life. It's very frustrating, and the more I worry about it, the worse it gets. There's lots of good advice in this thread. I use chammomile tea when I can, and when things are really bad, I take ambien.

Here are some tips about sleep behaviors that can help with developing a routine and good habits about sleep. (I should do better at these, too!)
Sleep Hygiene Tips

1. Keep a regular sleep/wake schedule
2. Don’t drink or eat caffeine four to six hours before bed and minimize daytime use
3. Don’t smoke, especially near bedtime or if you awake in the night
4. Avoid alcohol and heavy meals before sleep
5. Get regular exercise
6. Minimize noise, light and excessive hot and cold temperatures where you sleep
7. Develop a regular bed time and go to bed at the same time each night
8. Try and wake up without an alarm clock
9. Attempt to go to bed earlier every night for certain period; this will ensure that you’re getting enough sleep

Hope you find some good rest soon!

And welcome to PC.
