I hope you are doing okay. It sounds like your T's response is really helpful.
My T had the same accepting attitude towards my self-harm. It helped a lot because when I want to do it, I think, "I'll do it...and then talk to T about why, about the feelings under it. So maybe I should just wait and talk to T." I still often want to do it, but I can manage without it now because I know we will talk about the real issue.
Acceptance and compassion are wonderful things.
