Hi! I saw the word "seroquel," so I decided to drop in! I was on it for several years. I'm bipolar II and it was used for me for its calming effect. It is one GREAT sleeping aid, let me tell ya! Side effects? Well, it does fit into the category of an anti-psychotic, so it has the typical ones, the worst being the possibility of causing tardive dyskinesia--uncontrollable body movements, particularly of the face.......It can cause drowsiness, sort of a stupor, etc. I ultimately went off of it because it was too strong a medication for what I needed. It is certainly used often for psychotic problems. Hope that helps some! Best wishes!
