Googly, what state are you in? Some states have laws that the land lord has to have functioning heat in the building by a certain date, no excuses. Lots of folks don't know that and landlords will try to wiggle out of it by sayig yo have to use space heaters, which are actually not acceptable. (usually). Also, while you're awake, if you have and electric oven turning it on low and leaving it open can help too. Just remember not to leave it on or open when you leave or when you go to bed!
